Indoor season runs January-March. We practice 3 days a week, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 5:45pm-6:45pm. We ask that athletes attend at least two practices a week, and are welcome to come to more.

Competition
We participate in the Finger Lakes Running Club indoor meets at Cornell once a month. These meets are paid for by our program and the kids can choose up to three events at each meet. These meets are very family friendly and low key. They are great for all ages and abilities.
We also participate in USATF meets. Those dates and locations will be communicated once set by USATF.
Message to late registrants:
Welcome to our 2025 Indoor Track Season! Our Registration remains open the entire season, in the event that someone would like to join us after we have started. Please keep in mind that this season does end at the end of March, with our last meet being March 16, 2025.
Practice Locations: This year we will be practicing at Severn Elementary on Monday and Wednesday nights. On Thursday nights we will be at Watkins Glen High School. Attendance at every practice is not mandatory. If there is no school on one of our practice dates, whether it be planned or due to weather, we will not have access to the indoor facility. If the weather is nice enough, we may choose to still hold practice outdoors. This information will be communicated via Team Snap.
Team Snap: Keeping up with messages in the chat on Team Snap app is going to be the easiest way of knowing what to expect for each practice. During the winter, we have a lot of last minute changes that happen due to the weather and our practice locations. Any cancellations will also be communicated through email, but it will likely be in the chat first. Feel free to ask questions in team chat, or message a coach directly. Also, please mark your athlete's expected attendance in the app. This helps us to plan practices and determine if we have enough coaches.
Attire: Dressing in layers is best for athletes during the Indoor season. We do often go outside and when we come back in, they get warm quickly. We have headlamps that the athletes are welcome to use. If your child has their own, please just make sure that it is clearly marked with their name. Plastic, lightweight water bottles are best for practices. We often carry our water to the location where we will be running and the metal bottles get heavy and cold.
Meets: Our local meets this season will be held on 1/12/25, 1/19/25, 2/16/25, and 3/16/25 at Barton Hall at Cornell University. This is the closest, regulation sized, indoor track to us. Emails will be sent out before these meets reminding you to mark what events your athlete would like to participate in in Team Snap. If you don't know what to choose, a coach can help.
Coaching: We currently have 5 active coaches for our indoor season. This may sound like plenty, but not every coach can make it to every practice. We are looking for more coaches to join our team and to help make our season a success! You don't have to be a "runner" to help out with coaching. Often times we need help with things like getting the athletes where they need to be and to ensure that they are following directions. Please reach out to a coach if you are interested in helping!
